To all Eagle 525 customers past and present, due to a higher demand for foreign built boats, in the short term we will not be building Eagle 525 for the UK market.

Introducing the Eagle 525 - the very trailable yacht. This tough little boat can be trailed behind the normal 1600 cc car, rigged single handed in half an hour and can be launched in 18” of water.

The Eagle 525 is built by Morton Boats, a family run firm based in Lincolnshire. On inspection of the boat you will notice the quality and attention to detail is the prime consideration. Each boat is built to individual customer requirements, in fact you are welcome to come to our yard and watch your boat being built.

The hull, deck and interior mouldings are all hand laid, the hull being of 9ozs chopped strand mat with 18oz woven roving, extra rovings being laid around the stress areas (keel boxes etc). Isophthalic resin and gelcoat are used on the hull to resist osmosis. High quality Sheffield stainless steel is used for the pulpit, pushpit and stancheons, Seaglaze aluminium surround windows, Z Spars mast boom and Hyde sails go to make the Eagle 525 the Rolls Royce among the trailer sailors.

An outstanding feature of the Eagle is the size of her cockpit, at around 7’6” long this is more than you get in some 30 footers. Four adults can sit in comfort on the weather side.

Down below you have a choice of upholstery and cushions in 8 different designs. Wood has been used wherever possible together with padded headlining and marine carpeting give a cosy feel to the cabin, minimising condensation.

There is a general feeling of space below, there being no centre plate case with the lifting keels being encased inside the facings of the bunks.

A two-burner alcohol stove is sited forward of the king post on which is fixed a table which slides up to the roof when not in use. A sink is recessed to starboard and a cutlery tray on the portside. There is space for a chemical toilet under the companionway step. There is generous locker space beneath each bunk.

Out on the water you will find the Eagle’s performance responsive and predictable, but above all very safe. All controls are led back to the cockpit, there being no need to go on the foredeck to reduce sail. Roller furled genoa and two single line reefing points on the main are standard fittings. Reefing can be completed easily and safely even when sailing single handed.

An extra feature of the Eagle is the construction of the two bulkheads isolating the main cabin. In the unlikely event of your Eagle being holed, water is contained in a small part of the hull. In the void between the hull and interior is placed 20 cu ft of foam making the Eagle virtually unsinkable.
